CX Pay takes the chairmanship of the Curaçao Fintech Association

CX Pay B.V. has taken on the chairmanship of the Curaçao Fintech Association for the 2026 to 2028 term.

CX Pay

CX Pay B.V. is proud to take on the chairmanship of the Curaçao Fintech Association for the 2026 to 2028 term.

The association exists because a handful of local companies decided the island's financial technology sector needed a voice that spoke for the people building here, rather than for institutions describing the region from a distance. CX Pay was one of the founding members and has been part of that conversation since the beginning.

Why an association matters in a market this size

Small markets get overlooked in exactly the same way, repeatedly. An international platform runs the unit economics, decides the population does not justify the effort, and moves on. Regulation then gets written with reference to markets that look nothing like ours, and local businesses spend years explaining why the rules do not fit.

A working association changes the shape of that. It gives regulators a single place to ask questions, gives members a way to align before those questions arrive, and gives newer companies somewhere to land instead of learning everything the expensive way.

What we intend to do with the term

The priorities are specific. Keep the dialogue with the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten open and practical. Make it easier for a new fintech to understand what compliance actually requires before it builds the wrong thing. And keep making the case, inside and outside the region, that the Caribbean market is not too small, it has simply been underserved.

We are grateful to our fellow founding members for the trust, and glad to welcome the new members joining this term.
